Tiny Elephant Cafe in Montclair, NJ

Tiny Elephant Cafe is owned by chef Alison Meade and pastry chef Dana Bachan, both former employees at Comfort Food Kitchen. Alison studied at the French Culinary Institute while Dana is a self-taught baker. The sisters wanted to create a place that would bring books and food together. They found the perfect spot in the Watchung Plaza, which is directly connected to a local community bookstore called Watchung Booksellers. This unique feature adds to the individual style of the cafe and allows patrons to search for a new read while waiting for their meal.

Holding on to a spot in the busy shopping area of Upper Montclair can seem difficult for any restaurant, but this tiny eatery has succeeded by offering a wide selection of tasty dishes and unique baked goods. Their outdoor seating is often filled with content customers, enjoying the fresh Montclair air and a well made breakfast or lunch dish. Try their avocado and eggs on toast or a huevos rancheros wrap. Their salads are a great choice as well. They have a pear and prosciutto sandwich, BBQ chicken ranch salad and fennel beet slaw.
