A new craft brewer is making waves on the North Jersey beer scene. Magnify Brewing Company, located in Fairfield, NJ, is putting the state on the national map for high-quality and experimental beers.

Magnify is a small, family-owned brewer, founded in 2015 by Eric Ruta, who had been working with a small, well-respected brewery in Portland, Maine. When he returned home, Ruta decided to open his own brewery in the region, bringing that excitement and community that he had been experiencing while living in Maine back home to New Jersey.
While exploring the booming craft beer scene in Maine, Ruta was inspired by the community and world class beer that he was experiencing there. He wanted to bring some of that feeling and beer back home to his home in northern New Jersey.
Initially, he had trouble getting anyone to take him seriously when he started his business in 2015. He did not have the experience or knowledge of beer and the business that other breweries had so he had to put in a lot of work, including doing his own sales.
He eventually got a space and a license. He then began pitching his beers to local bars.
After a year of success, Magnify moved into a bigger brewery and expanded its barrel-aging program. Currently, they have five brews on tap and have plans to double that number in 2018.
In addition to their year-round beers, they also make specialty beers, such as their Mosaic-hopped IPAs and breakfast-inspired ales. Their beers are available in stores and restaurants across the state.
They also have a tasting room where you can try their beers and talk with other beer lovers. During their weekly tasting sessions, you can learn more about the beers that they make and talk with the brewers about what it takes to brew.
