If you’re a craft beer lover, you have to check out Magnify Brewing Company. Located in Fairfield, this brew house is known for their juicy New England-style IPAs that are sure to have your taste buds tingling.
Founded in 2015, Magnify Brewing Company is the brainchild of owner Eric Ruta, who was inspired by the booming beer scene in Maine during his college years. He set out to bring the excitement, community and world class beer he experienced there back home to Northern New Jersey.
The brewery’s three year-round beers include Vine Shine, a dank and piney East meets West Coast IPA; Search Saison, a funky farmhouse ale; and Low Visibility, a 4.8% ABV pale ale that works as an introduction to craft beer for those who aren’t sure what to expect.
Their taproom is open five days a week, with tasting sessions happening every Wednesday and Thursday at 4 p.m., and Saturdays at noon. You can also get a tour of the brewing facility by appointment.
Erich Carrle, the head brewer at Magnify Brewing, isn’t afraid to experiment with esoteric ingredients in his beers. He says he tries to meld “unusual and interesting” ingredients with traditional brewing methods to produce a beer that is as unique as it is delicious.
In addition to their regular lineup of year-round beers, Magnify Brewing Company also specializes in small-batch beer releases. They typically brew four to six new beers every 4-6 weeks, with the most popular being their Vine Shine IPA.
They’ve become so popular that they’ve reached “stretched thin capacity.” This has forced the brewer to double batch four to five times a week, but production is expected to increase to 4,000 barrels this year, up from 2,500 in 2017. In order to keep up with demand, Carrle is introducing two new beers to their portfolio every month, including Perception is Reality, a 6.5% ABV New England-style IPA brewed with milk sugar and oats.

Night Shift Distributing Partner Launch
Night Shift is a new distribution partner launched in October that will focus on bringing more breweries to beer drinkers throughout the United States. The first partners include Magnify Brewing in New Jersey; Mast Landing in Maine; Pipeworks out of Chicago; and Reinheits Boten, a German importer from New York.
These breweries are joining forces because they all share the same vision: to change the way the beer industry operates. They believe that distributors should act with brewers’ best interests in mind, rather than simply putting their best beers in bottles and cans.
This week, the company is holding an official distribution partner launch at Brewer’s Fork in Charlestown, N.J., where people can sample a range of brews from the six new partners.
It’s the perfect opportunity for beer lovers to try a variety of different beers without having to hop around the country or make multiple trips to the brewery. It’s also a good time to meet some of the brewery team members and see how they’re doing.
